In March 2008, TIC was opened as part of the Investment and Tourism Department of Chernihiv City Council, and it is the first institution in Chernihiv to provide such services to tourists. TIC bases its activities on the methods of many countries that consistently enjoy a high rate of tourism. TIC collects, categorizes, and makes available information about the cultural, historical, social and economic resources of Chernihiv. Also TIC provides information about excellent tourist opportunities in the whole of Ukraine. Finally, TIC cooperates with professional associations, business enterprises, state and commercial organizations, and the mass media.
Visitors to TIC can get information about leisure in both Chernihiv city and in Chernihiv Oblast. Announcements about cultural norms, exhibitions and festivals are available free of cost. Also, all comers can arrange excursions of the city and its suburbs. Historical literature, booklets, photos and maps are on hand as well.
Simply put, TIC exists to serve tourists. It provides necessary information and operates under no subject or maintenance limits.

TIC Services
1. TIC provides comprehensive tourist information both orally and through booklets and other written materials for free. TIC can also supply information about other tourist agencies, public transport, and city routes.
2. TIC has information about cultural and sport events. You can get this information either orally or in writing. Find out about important cultural, sporting events, and festivals that happen in Chernihiv and in Ukraine as well.
3. TIC offers consultations for tourists who are interested in sightseeing opportunities in Chernihiv.
4. TIC helps to choose and if possible to make reservations for lodging at a hotel or another type of establishment.
5. TIC can arrange for tour guides, group excursions, individual excursions, and weekend tours by foot or by bus in Chernihiv and its surrounding suburbs.
6. TIC can arrange and order transport.
7. TIC has general information about tourist regions throughout Ukraine.
